As we approach the midway point of the school year, I choose to reflect on the blessing that is CCS. In August we opened our doors to the first time to students in over 5 months. Through prayer, planning and execution, we have remained open for 1/2 of the school year, which to be honest I was unsure if we'd make it this far. You see, putting in moving components of children in one place and adding activities such as clubs and sports was a huge step for us in returning to normalcy. We continue to have the same restrictions and plan in place as we did on day #1. Leading CCS is truly one of my greatest gifts and blessings. When I left Lafayette Parish School System in 2019, I did so because I wanted more. I wanted more influence as a leader. I wanted more direct contact with students. I wanted to practice my faith more daily. I wanted more time with my daughter. I wanted more of a sense of purpose. The last year and a half have given me all of those things and so much more. A sense of pride, a sense of belonging, a sense of what I do matters in the lives of so many little people. I am forever grateful to have been guided here and given this opportunity to grow with every single one of your children. I truly feel the sense of family every time I am on campus.
If you have not done so yet, please re-enroll your child(ren) for the 2021-2022 school year. Currently, we have 59% our students that have registered for next school year. Although at this early stage, we are pleased with this percentage, we would love to see that number at 100%. After January 4, we will begin filling open spots with new families.
I am looking forward to the 2nd half of our school year. We are pleased to unveil our new, updated website along with our first-ever CCS App. The free App is available in both the Apple Store and Google Play Store. We are super excited about this venture and hope you too will appreciate its ease of use, immediate access, and consistency that it provides to all things CCS.
