CURRICULUM
As the Body of Christ is present in the chapel at the center of the Carencro Catholic School campus, so is Christ at the center of study. Students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade encounter a unique religious curriculum following the teachings reflected in the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church. Our students receive an equally important foundation in Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and History, giving them the tools necessary to excel in their studies once they leave Carencro Catholic. The use of our school technology lab allows teachers to incorporate valuable computer skills and Internet research into all subject areas. Music and art classes, along with after-school enrichment opportunities, provide for a well-rounded education.
The Blessed Sacrament rests in our chapel as a reminder that Christ is the center of our lives and study at Carencro Catholic School. The entire student body prays as a family each morning and as a class before each subject during the day. Mass is celebrated weekly and on Holy Days of Obligation. Confessions are heard during Advent and Lent. Students pray the rosary as a school and by individual class during the months of October and May; they encounter the Way of the Cross each week during Lent. A school-wide emphasis on service enables students to become living examples of their Faith.
Lower Elementary
Younger students encounter basic formation in the areas of prayer, Christian interaction with family, teachers and peers with an introduction to the Sacraments, especially Baptism and the Eucharist. Special emphasis is placed on preparing to receive First Penance and First Communion in second grade.

Junior High
The junior high program highlights the Old Testament, ethics, morality and Church history, alongside formation in the areas of ministry and service.

A work of art is a world in itself, reflecting senses and emotions of the artist'’s world.

Carencro Catholic School places great value on the visual arts. Each student attends weekly visual arts classes. Art is a useful subject, as it relates to every curriculum.
When children have the opportunity to express their creative talents at a young age, it can lead to outstanding social, moral, language, perceptual, and aesthetic development later in life. The visual arts reach not just visual learners, but auditory and sensory learners as well. The arts at Carencro Catholic offer a chance for every student to excel!
Emphasis is placed on the child as creator. The pre-kindergarten through second grade curriculum emphasizes development of sensory motor skills, while allowing students to explore a range of artistic mediums and styles. In third through fifth grade, student artists learn how to use visual arts language when engaging in meaningful art images, and how to use these images as inspiration for creation in the classroom. The course of study for sixth through eighth grade focuses on understanding the elements and principles of the visual arts, while encouraging creativity through the experience of meaningful art skills. Students become the sole choice maker in the subject of their art.
